Photographer, Lisa Brown, completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration in 1996. With an extensive background in art, design, and photography, Lisa began her career painting fine art oil paintings. Her primary business was painting commissioned portraits. Using her photographic skills, Lisa would take photos of her clients and use the photos to create her paintings. She would typically set up lighting, help with costuming, backgrounds and posing to create the image she was after and then paint for approximately 80-1000 hours to finish the final portrait.
After receiving many requests for photography, Lisa expanded her business to include photography as well. Eventually, Lisa decided to become a full time photographer and went to work for another photographer for two years to learn the business. She then opened her own business and photographed 30 weddings the first year. Now she chooses to focus on 20-25 weddings a year offering specialty, high quality photography.
As an experienced artist and photographer, Lisa’s work has been featured in many magazines and on numerous magazine covers. Her unique ability to capture expressive moments, coupled with a refined sense of composition and an intimate, romantic style have earned her a reputation as a sought after artist. Her low stress, unobtrusive and calm manner instantly put brides, grooms and families at ease. Infusing her work with elegance and emotion, Lisa captures your wedding day working with light to create dramatic images that will be cherished for generations.
Lisa is continually updating her equipment and furthering her education in order to stay current in all aspects of photography. She is a member of the Professional Photographers of America and the Wedding Photojournalist Association. She is a preferred photographer on ‘The Little Black Book’ of wedding vendors.
